It's not just a breeze of 'virtual stress', they're a hosting company, and if they don't bring the servers back alife or give an compensation there'll be a few people which will go to court with this. Not only because their servers might be down (propably not every Eterhost customer was hosting a private Server) ....Quote:

When you bought a vServer on Eterhost you complete a contract with the Eterhost company. And if they don't do what they promise (as it's defined in the contract) you may be able to complain against them....
So i can understand, why they're having a lot of trouble...

This is so sad. This is the perfect example of how the Metin2 Scene became. Corrupted People doing shit to a few of the only people that actually did alot of good things to this scene and who really tried to improve it. Whoever did it, do you have no moral ? Dont you feel guilty ? I bet you dont. You seriously must be a sick piece of shi* to do something like that.

And there may be some guys not hosting metin2 private servers. Maybe their rented more than one VPS? One for e.g. TeamSpeak. It's a legal thing to host a TeamSpeak server so they could do this.Quote:

And I heard that their should be guys out there in the world who doesn't have anything to do with metin2 private servers (but I don't think that they read at this section because Shogun only published the attacker on elitepvpers).
Btw. every private server is illegal, not only 92%.

Yes, every metin2 private server is illegal in one way or another.
You must understand something though, a hosting company is legal 100% no matter how many metin2 private servers it hosts, there is something called customer privacy or aka the privacy policy found on the hosting comany's website.
"As a member of the European Convention on Human Rights, the United Kingdom adheres to Article 8 ECHR, which guarantees a "right to respect for privacy and family life" from state parties, subject to restrictions as prescribed by law and necessary in a democratic society towards a legitimate aim."
There is also something called "The right to privacy"
What that means for a hosting company and how it applies to it's policies is that basically the company (Eterhost in this case) is not allowed to check private content on the server even though they phisically own the machine.
The information and data is customer's and customer's alone.
We do not have anything to do with what content our customers are hosting.
BUT, even then that doesn't mean that if we are aware that a customer is doing illegal activities with his server like hacking or ddosing other people using our hardware we will not take it down or take measures about it.
So i guess that answered your comment, YES, we can and we will take legal measures against this so called "Hacker".

No offence, but you can't forbid an alleged attacker to defend himself (Clad).
I have no sympathies for him, and after what happened with a former WoM staff member (later scamming Bellator2), I believe Juan to not accuse anyone without reason.
The only serious fault here is the missing disaster strategy. You all know the scene is rough so don't forget your plan B (this also goes to all customers).
I'm not familiar with legal aspects but complete data loss is also a fault of Eterhost's customers.
I am curious, however, why there are no backups of m2d.
I know any good backup strategy requires effort, performance, disk space and maybe even some downtime (and of course money), but it will probably pay back sooner than you could expect.
