I think you can make a very good 9d server if you put your mind to it and have somebody to share the burden with.Quote:
We are well aware. I still have my dedicated server and our old files from 9dserver. Wondering... :P
since the beginning of all these fuss i knew Elysium didn't have the source code, even if they did they will have an old crappy nonfunctional source code.Quote:

I know we disagreed sometimes on things Jamie, but that Elysium 9D isnt getting anywhere is something we agree on ;)
So in other words, Elysium wil be the place for hackers and cheaters to be :) free item mall here we come. Maybe even take some accounts from players in the process ;)Quote:
That's still publicly available alongside the pre-compiled binaries from the release but I wouldn't trust a single file when it comes from Hexpor. There is a packet error though with the current server executables and the ones from the release. I could be wrong but the packet structure seems entirely different and from the results of the tcpdump and the wireshark analysis, the packets do look different.
Unless someone took the time to study the source files and rebuilt the entire client with new encryption methods and a new networking framework, which I doubt anyone will because there are not enough people interested in server development and those who are won't go to that much trouble will simply be stuck with the same server files and constraints as everyone else.
The client is badly insecure without any verification or server-sided to client-sided validation, the encryption is basic MD5 which isn't even salted, the gameguard is missing a lot of advanced modules such as the Thermida encryption libraries and the entire server is years old before security was a huge priority or concern to them.

What do you mean worst than that? English, do you speak it?
Excuse my head but I won't read what packet hacking is because I've already got thoughts on what it could be. More or less. And since that thing involves in hacking, again, I doubt reading about it would be useful in my case. I'm stupid at I.T. I am just a user, not a developer. However I took part in a massive programming course but apparently it didn't work for me. I learnt what object orientated programming means, I learnt how to make a form application in C-based languages, I know how to put labels, buttons, group boxes, text boxes, masked text boxes, check buttons, radio buttons and progress bars on a form. After all I know how to make an application which tells you to go bang your mama (I'm saying it to no one, it's just an example) by pressing a button or checking a radio button. I can also make simple calculators (basics such as adding, subtracting, deviding, multiplying and square rooting) which don't require high mathematical knowledge because I'm stupid at maths as well.Quote:

and the worst thing is, some one curious like me has found in the old source the packet codes of some special things GMs can do
not sure if they changed those codes but im surely any client based on 2008 source i can alter packets to have some GM special tricks without even the need to have the client of GM.
