Almost all new sro server's client is infected with Ramnit trojan...

I got infected few times with it, gave me a hard time with the original exes of Myth, because it infected every single file on my computer, and I only had one copy of the original unpacked client exes from my server.

Luckily I was able to retrieve original versions from the alpha tests, from one of my friend's computer.

It's annoying to get rid of it. Lost a lot of valuable files from my backup disc due to this virus because I wasn't able to clean them.

Well it is more harmless then some Virus/Ransomware/Malware that infects your explorer.exe and blocks your Desktop also it covers it with a whole Image saying that you watched Child Pornography and that you're doing terroristic activity.

Also as far as I know... disabling Javascript in your Browsers does help, since most of the infections are coming through a Drive-By-Download.

I had infected client.
Just repaired it via antivirus (avira) repaired infected .exe files.

Bullguard's pretty nice tbh. firewall scans rars, scans files when they are being opened. etc etc.

most of the server owners are kids who have no idea what an AV is

i recommend KIS
works for me and in a way, is pretty cheap
also, using high UAC settings helps A LOTTTTT, while many think it is annoying it does help
