thanks beta, for the very nice compliment! But as much cred should go to unknownone. I know most ppl here already consider him epic, and its prolly redundant to reiterate that point but, yeah, im in awe of his ability. But ty just the same =D I'll post more as i get it dun. pce.

I have a tool to edit the DMap and am stuggling to get my C# understanding up to par so i can utilize it. BTW thats my samurai class in the room XD. The map will be released but with with my client, once my rework of 5017 is finished, those of you using Hybrids bugless source will be able to use this client to log in on that source =) screenie below -

Great job!

btw how did you got a non-tro class to dual wield?

Go Zatoichi!

Mind sharing how you make the map? ^^
Privately of course.

I would like to work on a new city eventually. Or a nice forest for my campaign server.

im very, very sorry flame, but it just isn't my technique to out. It was shared to me by someone in private, and i am just not willing to compromise that trust. Not to mention, that i barely have an understanding of how it was done. but when i do figure it all out, i still couldn't risk the relationship with someone who it appears i have alot in common with, and could develop a friendship with. But once i do get the technique down, i will surely make a map for you, if that is any kind of consolation. As it is i don't even ask the person questions about this technique, which i am full to the brim with. I don't want the person to regret working with me, in the past or in the future. believe me i'm working very hard at understanding what was done here. In truth, all i did was design the area. I do hope you understand. pce.

Thats completely understandable, im just glad you are showing us your work it kinda gives us something to aim towards.

I also am intrigued to see your new class duel wielding, been trying to make a none tro duel wield in v5017 for some time now and i still have no idea how.
If there is any details you can help with on that it would be great but if you cant its cool.

sup beta! yeah, that i can out. Although i think you'll find my solution disappointing, lol. I just replaced the tro. The tro class has always been a thorn in my side, i never understood what a warrior from Troy was doing in an asian setting. So i replaced all references of trojan to samurai. It took minutes to accomplish using the "replace" function (source and client). The only thing for me to do is redesign all the gears, which is where the work comes in. Further more, historically, one figure is known for his use of two swords (world wide), Miyamoto Mushashi, a samurai from feudal japan, who defeated countless enemies with his sword technique. He is ultimately THE master of swords and is sometimes referred to as a "sword saint". At one point he even began using wooden swords to defeat his opponents, who wielded real blades. He eventually left civilization to live in a cave in the mountains, where he wrote one of the historical books of that period on warfare. You can find this book today, in ebook form even, and it's title is "A Book of Five Rings". Sorry if that is disappointing! I am adding a few new skills to the samurai class, which i can do, to give him some more authenticity. TQ missed the point completely of the ninja, stealth. Ninja were known as masters of invisibility, not for their mastery of dual wielding. My ninjas (2 unique classes) are much different than TQ's. As for why samurai and ninja would be in China, well, Japan invaded China a number of times in history. Hope that sparks your imagination for a work around if you can't code it in. pce man.

I am not disappointed at all tbh. I like how you have changed it to fit in alot more than the trojan did.

You have a great imagination and it has indeed sparked mine.

one other thing i have heard, not sure if it is correct, is that the client .exe knows that only the tro can dual wield. I'm assuming that it could be decompiled, and changed from there, but again, for personal reasons i chose not to go that route. I have hex edited the client in the past, and dont really have much reservation about opening the exe up to change it, but couldn't see a "real" reason to do this. Making my samurai the only dual wielder in the game will bring the advantage back to him for melee, and the ninja and other classes will have to use cunning to defeat him. I'm totally into "immersion" when i game, but that isn't the case for everyone. Glad i could be of service man.

Well you have inspired me alot :P, i wanted to make a duel wielding class but i never thought of going over the Trojan class (probably the most obvious choice).

I'm now thinking of creating 4 new classes and going from there.
When i'm gaming i am also very immersed in the game; i intend to bring together real world superpowers of history into the game and give it a multicultural appeal instead of all Asian (don't get me wrong i am in love with the Chinese cultures of real CO).

And i may have to steal your Samurai idea :P. Thought i'm thinking of having it as a 1 weapon class.

STEAL IT?!?!? hahaha, no need, you can have it! Work on your other classes and when i'm done the samurai i'll pass you all the files in a zip if ya like. we'll all get more done if we work together! As for the multicultural idea, its great! I just happen to be head over heals with asian culture and history, Japanese in particular. will you add mythical elements? or stay strict to history? Maybe we should continue this in PM, we've hijacked flames thread at this point (i'm horrible).

To return to the maps subject and save ourselves from infraction...

Once i get this down i could thrown some maps together for ya, different cultural related scenes and such. You could have each class start in a map that reflects the occupation.

Like in WoW? if so that's a great idea..

Sharing your stuff Would help me a lot :) but only if you don't mind.
I am defiantly gunna have some mythical elements to it, with each class having a different cultural philosophy it would be hard not to.
As for hijacking this thread i'm sure he doesn't mind.
I Was also thinkin the same for a different map for each class.

@Djago160 - I Like WoW a lot. The thing i like most about it is the amount of content it has and the graphics.

ya ya, its all good! technically i'd be releasing the client, and anyone could sift thru it and take what they like and don't like when the time comes (but i'd have no prob zipping all the files for samurai for ya specifically). Your idea would work well, like a AOE but boiled down to individual control, instead of one person controlling the entire civ. It could promote teamwork.

One thing i see when i look down that road tho is the potential for racism in game. Let's say for instance you make an egyptian civ...i'm sure you see where I'm going. I'm not saying there shouldn't be an egy civ, obviously they have a magnificent history, full of myths and legends, like most cultures. It could be interesting, if ppl didn't take it too far, but you may find that it'll grow out of control. I suppose we see this to some degree already with racially aligned guilds, so it might not be anything new. I still think its a great idea, but might require attention to detail to make sure its well balanced for all. You could make some maps culturally exclusive (the starter maps) so that each race has a chance to develop before exposure to PK onslaughts from rival cultures. I think WoW was able to avoid that by using fictional stereotypes, instead of cultural stereotypes.
