just to add maybe some of you should just call there bluff edit your websites to stop displaying what they dont want you to display and continue to run your servers there is no way i would beleive a letter worded like that its just tq blowing smoke

I bet you live in US. As you might know, europe doesn't have "federal" laws, every country does have their own laws, and they must only follow some regulations, so you can't talk about "european law" here.

Allow me to set the record straight, i do not work for TQ, and i am not the snitch you seem to think i am and i find that remark very offensive.
If you read the posts i am merely stating a point of view and arguements that TQ could use in order to close your server, and for that matter, all so-called private servers.
I am not jealous of your server, as you claim, i played on it for a while and its not as bad as some, nor is it as good as others, in certain aspects. But in all servers there is good and bad.

You state nothing gets by you, there are more hackers, and bots on AcmeEO than you have banned to date. On FHEO and ACEEO, you would be automatically banned for life not warned about botting or hacking.

I agree with you about copyright infringement under US codes, but ACEEO was hosted in the UK, and therefore not covered by US codes. Also, copyright laws are universally the same in every country, though the language and some aspects may differ slightly, as would any punishment.

As regards your comment about 'not blatantly using Netdragons property', you are wrong. The software you use is theres and you ask your members at signing up to download your client which includes the software created by TQ and Netdragon.

As i tried, obviously in vain, to point out in previous posts, THESE ARE REASON ENOUGH FOR TQ TO SHUTDOWN ALL PRIVATE SERVERS, unless they are licensed by TQ or Netdragon.
Now if you dont like people stating the possible reasons why TQ and Netdragon are looking at closing private servers, then i am sorry. But this thread was started to discuss why a specific server was closed. But your server owner and now you have started making remarks about me and my statements, thus changing the nature of this thread. And all i have done since nooneatalls original query is sit here and explain to him and you the REASONS WHY YOU COULD BE CLOSED.

False: Ace had been hosting it in UK for about 3 months,but a couple of days ago he moved it to US.
No, laws are very diffrent from each other , Example : thepiratebay got servers in Egypt where the police don't even care about biggest Pserver in egypt ever.
Hosting a server in Eastern Europe,Asia, or the Middle East would avoid you it, because there is NO federal laws there,Well i agree with you that any server "can" be shutdown but there are some "exceptions".
Well, i think you mean that if 2/3 servers got closed all the servers should be closed?
simply, Servers can delete the client download link, or use torrent *as forcer said*.

they can only close the distribution of the client, if you had a direct link to the client on your web page , which will be considered as stealing it.

Karnage - I am not 'misinformed', my judgment is based on what I read, and that was you expressing your opinion of what you 'apparently' believe to be true and your personnel opinion on what you 'think' should or will happen.

You suggested boycotting Acme based on 'your own opinion' on how we came to have our servers.

You hoped our server would also be shut down based on what 'you think' is correct information.

Copyright laws are not universally the same...there are treaty's in place in various countries that have a wide spectrum of diverse ideas on the distribution of material.

If that is the case then I suggest you go investigate the laws mentioned in the letters received by recently closed servers...you may find one or two things quite interesting...:D

Actually, i suggested boycotting TQ based games, not acme.
And i said 1 of your servers, not all, or both or any other number.

As far as i am concerned, and read this carefully, ALL PRIVATE SERVERS SHOULD NOT BE CLOSED AS THEY HAVE BEEN. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD WHAT WAS CAUSING AN ISSUE AND GIVEN A SET TIME TO CHANGE, INSTEAD OF THE THREATS MADE BY THE LETTERS.

And speaking of the letters, i have seen a copy of one. I says about copyright infringement and unauthorised distribution of the software. (I emphasise software, namely the game made by TQ and/or Netdragon). And that is covered by all countries that have copyright laws. So my point about ALL private servers was and remains valid.

Comon guys you all talking about TQ in bad way ... just look from this side ""They made the damn game that you guys play 24/7 and try to hit the top PServer on it"" i do respect TQ for there works .. same style on all games but on each release the game rocks more than the other... the only thing that sucks is there development methods as bad as there methods to bring cash to there company ... and trust me if one single person of you right here was the Head manager or the owner of TQ you would have cared more about how to get money than paying attention what suits your games players .. all your releases will be depending on new functions and updates that makes peoples feel like donating more and more..

so don't say TQ games sucks cause all they care about is making money... if so just stop bothering yourself making pserver for TQ Games -.-

i miss unholylordseo theres no reason why we should all be hit and acme kept safe if they want to shut servers down understandable but missing the biggest server just suxs .... nothing against acme
