When I tried dupe it is worked on any slot, just need to be a 3 slot free in line where you do the magic.
If item is disappeared, its mean you do the bug right. You need a relog, and ta-da :)
So if it isn't disappeared you do the method wrong.
I didn't tried dupe nowadays.
