Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm currently using PXI 0.6.4 with Meteor 7.1 to aid in my withdrawal from FFXI.

I keep running into what I can only describe as a glitch, it's happened 3 times now. I log off and log back in and all of my characters equipment is gone from the inventory. He is still standing there wearing the items, but when I examine myself or look in my inventory it's all empty. The only way I've been able to fix it is by reloading my database tables from a backup. I'm going to work more on troubleshooting it, but any assistance to keep me from having to reload everything would be appreciated.

Secondly, I was trying to add in the new blm empyrean head, I created a new id of 19999 and used the MID from the above post. I created an entry in the ITEM_VALUES and STATS_ARMOR tables for my new item. But whenever I do @additem 19999 nothing shows up in my inventory. Am I missing something here?
The corruption is likely due to the additem command, which I believe is bypassing certain checks when adding items, as commands are rather unstable, which could be causing a glitch where your inventory appears empty yet the character is still equipped with the items, which would make sense since packets display the actual equipment shown and as such it wouldn't affect what equipment your character displays regardless if it seems like you have no equipment.

As for the second problem its likely because you are using an id for the additem command that probably doesn't even exists because if the blm empyrean head you were trying to add is the Goetia Petasos its id is 12011 and you would need to change your database to match the correct id as well

Pets and avatars are broken, if I recall correctly. As for BLU spells, I'm pretty sure that a good number of them work, but you still have to set them up in the spells menu once you change your job to BLU.

Hi I've been trying to get this to work but can't. I get to the character selection screen and when I'm done it says - error code: 3322 with a bunch of Japanese letters.

My files are up to date because I also pay to play, I just wanted to try out something else.

I'm using spiraffxi that codiddle uploaded.

You need to copy the contents of the update folder in to the (installed drive letter):\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI folder

Yea i figured it out. Thanks. I put the data folder from the POL folder into the FFXI folder.

I have other questions :(. Is there a way to get mobs or npcs to show up with Spirafxi that codiddle posted?

Is it possible to use the new expansions in order to get the new armor and weaps? how?

-thanks

k you don't need to do anything for that.. what the gold world pass does is if u had a friend within the game that was playin for a while an gave you a code
you could put the code in to that seletion an as far as i know you both get some items as you level or something or rather... other then that.. just click enter to continue throw the char screen

What has happened so far: The community is a little fragmented -- some people have a working AH, some people can't get mobs/npcs to show up, some people are adding new/special equipment. Over the past few weeks, I've been all over the code like a fat kid on a cupcake, and I've been rearranging a few things to make them more stable / developer friendly.

Not sure what kind of instructions you're looking for - but Tom's repack has the step-by-step on setting up the server. If not, there's a decent guide here (******** -- sadly, the site is a pain in the ass with popups):

Finally: yes, you can remove the R/EX from items. You'd do this in the database, under the appropriate table because the server decides how to handle R/EX/Tmp items. The client accepts whatever the server gives it. In truth, the "R" isn't handled correctly, because the client apparently doesn't care if it gets a duplicate rare drop -- this is why you can dual-wield kraken clubs (which is good for nothing except building club skill).

Ok - I've seen a couple questions about the expansions so here's the deal: when a new expansion is added, with new gear, NPCs, mobs, etc. you get a crapload more DAT files in your FFXI directories. Even if you don't plan on wasting your money on the expansion. This is so that you can see the new gear worn by every fool who did. The details/stats of new armor/weapons are added to the existing collections (i.e., the same file everything was in before) and the graphic pieces are added each as a new (different) file. pXI only needs to index the collection - the client handles all the graphics loading/unloading (and does a rather piss-poor job of it).

Q: Why are so many quests/missions missing? Can I play the content from the expansions?

A: All of the quests & missions are based on the linkage of NPCs (or events, or whatever) to dialogue in the string tables. To implement all of these, the appropriate LUA scripts need to know which string table entry to send to clients based on the condition of your character & the environment. Example: the Summoner job quest needs to (a) trigger on weather events, (b) show you a non-playable sequence, and (c) display some text. The LUA scripts (in this case it's part of each Zone?!) handle all of the logic for this. The reason so many things are missing is because the LUA scripts haven't been written and the string tables change. To add new pXI playable content, someone has to dig around in the string tables and find which text goes with which NPC, etc. Eventually, if people work on this and use some of the walkthrough documentation from FFXIclopedia, there will be content.

Edit: As far as correctly loading mobs/NPCs into zones, a new collection of FFXIMon (FFXI Monitor?) zone captures needs to be taken. Worse, this needs to be recaptured every time there's an update, because SE likes to move mobs around, add some new seasonal crap, and whatever. This can be a tedious process for one person, as *each* zone needs to be visited... and from the way things are laid out, that's about 220 different areas. I don't have a copy of FFXIMon, so I can only guess that it takes a snapshot of the zone data so that clients know where all the NPCs, points of interest, and mobs go. The records apparently consist of ((object name, position, object ID)), and maybe something else. Anyway, the "import" command on the server console loads the capture into the database... with very little error checking. I'm willing to try and fix this if someone can provide zone captures (and tell me which zone it is).

Thanks akka
I think when I have time I'm gonna read this whole thread better.

lol now mysql is messed up. The password has somehow changed

This has been interesting. I worked with some C++ in college but have been working in C# the last few years. I was looking to check on the private server development a few weeks back and stumbled on this thread. I got the code working in debug and have been stepping though some things to better understand it. I downloaded most of the files I seen on here but did not see any source for mXI. Is anyone aware of source for this?

Lol i bet that had been alot to type out, the instructions i was meaning is kinda like step by step. Kinda like someone behind you telling you to push this enter this type of thing because somewhere down the line i always get confused not really trying to but with me always having to stop the video or stop what im reading then do the instruction.

Bout damn time hate the Rar/Ex items they should remove it from the actual game itself, or atleast make them AH able. And thats cool if some of the npcs and AH doesnt work, i just wanna pown bosses because i never got claim on my server and i didnt want to cheat (besides using windower) so i just wanna own a few fafnirs and a kirin or 2 :p lol maybe AV just cause i can lol
