[UNOFFICIAL] List Of Legit and Scam Providers List

Not sure what you mean with micro-management, the current timeline was that an user reported the maintainer of this list (joel) as inactive, sL1Me raised this as issue internally and suggested to look for a replacement, what we are doing right now.

The only alternative would be to keep joel as inactive maintainer and let this list die (???).

Just to get this to the point:

- we make sure the list has an active maintainer
- this thread is moderated like every other thread, all forum rules are enforced by us
- every maintainer has to agree to follow these rules, especially the ones regarding scam accusations, there is no way around it, no exceptions

We never intervened in any rankings of the list, if you claim otherwise, then provide evidence and facts. There won't be any.

If you are maintaining who owns the thread that is just indirect management. The difference between moderation and direct involvement is that moderation bans/limits a user’s posting. Moderation is NOT managing who owns a stated unofficial thread that influences who spends their money where.

Like I mentioned previously, there is nothing wrong with official involvement, however there should be some sort of disclosure on the list that is clear about the involvement of epvp staff in managing the list maintainer.

I truly believe this list could be more useful if there was more transparency and accountability for personal bias. I want to see this list thrive as I have used it as a personal reference for cheat purchasing decisions for years. I do not wish to burn what I myself find useful.

Respectfully, I think you misunderstood what he said. They only “manage” or replace the person maintaining the list if they are inactive, which is the current situation with joelr. Regarding bias, there’s no way to remove it completely. But someone who isn’t affiliated with the two providers that come up most often would probably be a good place to start.

Well, it would be the least problem to put up such a disclaimer, but it surprises me that this is a thing though. elitepvpers is run by over 20 years now and the staffs top priority over all those years is/was to act in the best interest of our users (and the majority knows that), so I think there is some trust between us and our members.

In my opinion the most visitors of those lists care about the content, not the framework around it, they don't ask themselves "Uhh, was the OP of this list assigned by the epvp administrators? I'm scared.", more like:

- "Is the OP biased?"
- "Are the rankings real or was the OP bribed by some of the cheat providers?"
- "Are some of the listed cheat providers scammers with which the OP works together?"

That's the reason we always love to see if the maintainer works with some system which allows the reader to understand the reasoning why provider A was better rated than provider B.

Anyway, as already mentioned, if the disclaimer part is a real thing we can work something out.

Just do us one favor and don't add lort back into this, you can read his previous posts and you can clearly see that he has favorites and talks badly about others for no reason. Thank you.
