Hello guys I need some help in order to buy new processor.
Is "Core 2 Quad Q9650 Processor 3.0 GHz 12 MB Cache" is good or not ?

P.s: I need processor that can help me to make videos.

I had almost the same processor (Q9550) between 2009 and 2012
it was good back then, but it's not worth it anymore

I have enough budget to get i7 :o
Someone told me that core 2 quad is better than i7 , therefore I came and asked about core 2 quad.

For video editing the best choice is an i7

You have 3 options:
Least expensive, no overclock: H97 motherboard, i7-4790, 16GB DDR3 RAM
A little more expensive, can overclock very easily: Z97 motherboard, i7-4790K, 16GB DDR3 RAM, good CPU cooler
Extreme performance: X99 motherboard, i7-5820K or 5960X(super expensive), 16GB DDR4 RAM, good CPU cooler

And none of the Hardware Options listed above is going to handle Luminous Engine which runs under DX12.


Go with an i7-4790 / 4790K, get a Tower Cooler and a Huuuuuuge PC Case.
For Rendering, RAM is always enough. 16GB are the Way, if you can get 32GB.

I don't have to tell you the GPU?... and don't forget to buy a good PSU, don't go cheap on it since it is the "Heart" of your PC. Buy a Cheap one and expect it to blow up and all of your Components get dragged with it.

You don't need "Extreme" Gear just for Rendering Videos. You would need it if you would Render Scenes in Blender or other 3D Programs.

Why would it be a waste of money? I want to play the good games and enjoy them as much as possible.
