Are you serious? Right click it in server management studio and select rename. Like renaming a folder in windows.

If your services are still not running I can probably not start those for you. You will need to look in the configuration manager and start your own SQL services.

When you restore the database, you select from device? Then you browse for the database.

Did you read the step in the guide to move the back-ups to C:\ because it looks like you created a folder?

its not that its just i wanted to show u how it is when i try to restore the db so it would be easier for u to help me out with it

Well in your first pick it looks like you have from database selected and should have from device.

The only thing I can think because yours looks different than mine is you may be using the wrong version of MSSQL.

Which one are you using?

Older files took 2008

These files 8.1 took 2012

9.1 can be done with either 2012 or 2014 depending on which back up files you use.

If you have the wrong version compared to which version the backups were created with you may get an error like you are getting.

EDIT: I just checked your version number for SQL in your pics and you have an older version of SQL than I do so this could very well be the case.

its the 2008 r2
so should i get the 2012?

Unless you want to run the 6.2 server files you will need MSSQL 2012 minimum.

2014 will allow you to run the clean 9.1 telecaster release.

2008 R2 will not restore the 8.1 or even the 7.4 databases.

It does say right in step one of the guide you will need MSSQL 2012.

so i re-did everything and now i'm restoring the telecasting but only that i had a problem that i needed more than 20gb free so i deleted other stuff n got 41 n now i get this message TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
