So, just never close the client all the way (log out, but don't go further back than the login screen, or the server select screen). Then you are always ready to go for a new quiz.

A trick I use is that I used the bot to make a level 20 character on the European Servers (doesn't take long, just doing the quests nearly gets you there, but if you set the bot up in scorpion lords crypt you can do it AFK quickly too. Remember to change realms at level 10 to enable your double EXP).

So after a patch (when you HAVE to start a client all over again), I log in on the European servers at their quiz time (7:30 am for US East, 10:30am for US West) and have the client open their quiz. Don't have to answer any questions, just have the client SEE them. Now you are set for the rest of the week on your home server (if you are from Europe, sorry, you are without the bot for the first 3 questions of your quiz post-maintenance. Search on the Wiki is your only option, and memorization... first 3 are typically pretty easy)

Also, I finally have things set up to use SuneC's DLL. And I will most likely start working with Inathero so we can release a "super bot" between the two of us. Our picture of what we want a bot to be is fairly similar.

I got a question. Some answers are wrong in the quiz bot and I changed them and a few more to the right answer.

My question is could I delete all the other options of a question and leave only the right answer?

e.g

What is a WTF moment?
A. Donkey Sex
B. Midget Porn
C. I'm Rick James Bitch
D. Mouthwash
Answer:B

Could I delete A, C, and D answers and have the bot only come up with the B answer.

Have it come up like this.

What is a WTF Moment?
B. Midget Sex

Thx in advanced.

The entries or A B C D don't have to be in there for the bot to work, but it will add them back whenever it sees that question again.

The answer field has to be the answer text, not the letter. Since the letter is different each time.

The main reason I record the text of each answer every time is so that you have the EXACT string if you manually place an answer in the ini file (Ideally you set the new answer while the quiz is running, but if you are AFK at that time or just don't click fast enough once answer is revealed, it is nice to be able to set it manually).

The answers never have ____ in them, but those are a good example of when you need a computer generated string for the answer to show up right. A less obvious one is the "britney spears" song question. The answer has a special character at the start (looks like i-, but it isn't exactly that, the thing that looks like an i is something else)

Can you make a standalone version for the Quiz Guru?

I've been considering it. I already have a Love Match written, and the address I need to write WoW as well. Once I pop that one out I'll consider doing a simple Quiz Bot which runs all 3.

I did see the "i-" in that question, a few others as well. But thx for letting me know it wouldn't of mattered if I changed them or not. It's a long damn list to change all of those. I also seen a few repeated questions is this because it may appear further into the quiz then at the beginning.
01/21/2011 21:37 dumpersta#353
No, the bot doesn't care when the question appears. Repeats are either actually different (but maybe in a subtle way, like a minor typo fix, or a comma added/removed), or they are an accident from me updating through the Wiki after the database already existed (Pretty sure I only used wiki for initial population though, and never added more afterward).

If there is a real duplicate, the second is just ignored completely, so making changes to the right answer there is useless.

I presume u mean that the bot doesnt save setups for different characters. If you are, then your bot files must be screwed up cause the settings for all my characters are auto saved.

so, basically if i shut down my pc every night, the problem will show again the next day... cos to avoid the problem i never close the client where i use the quiz right? or i misunderstood ur explanation

Thanks again

PS. yes i'm from european server

Yes, if you completely turn off your computer you will always have a bot crash on the first few questions. If you just use STANDBY or HIBERNATE mode so that you can leave BoI up and running that will prevent the crashing. Or if you make an account on Abyss and wake up early enough to take their quiz (at least accept starting it, don't need to answer anything). That is like 4:30 am for you though if I am doing it right, so hardly reasonable.

I may have a way to remove the crash now, SuneC showed me a technique for another problem which I may be able to apply in this case. Then instead of crashing the bot would just not display anything, or display it late. But I am not completely sure that it will work just yet. I'll try to find some time to test it out (but as you can tell from lack of updates at all lately, not much time on my hands at the moment)
01/27/2011 23:38 dumpersta#358
Managed to find new offsets for the quiz questions that ought to prevent the crashing on initial questions asked. I'll be testing them tonight and if they are solid, I will belt out the Warning of Wisdom bot and generate a tidy little "Quiz Helper" bot. Might make a new thread for that one entirely.

It will still require a character list so you can select WHO is taking the quiz of course. Otherwise things could get a tiny bit confusing I imagine. And I might manage to include a little prize I discovered which will enable you to do lovematch with 2 characters who are on the same computer as one another.
