HyperElk had been reversed by a lot of people in the community, KrYo being one (I use him as an example because he's... insert Dumbpepe), so the source was exposed. Additionally, from my understanding, they also used a very old source of winifix.
So, based on the above, it's safe to assume that they were lazy and used the same driver as the first one that was being used during the first wave.
Regardless, once you get hit, especially with their initial customer base size, Blizzard makes it their mission to shut you down, and if they can't reach you legally, they'll sit anti-cheat developers on you until you have no customers left.
