I follow the steps and it isnt updating my itemtype.dat. It says it is and it says it's backing it up but when I go back into the game, nothing has changed.

Make sure you run as admin.

it wont even let me connect to the download site...

I use Windows XP, my user is an admin. I'm not sure what else to do.

they didnt have administrator mode with XP so the Safety software doesnt exist at all so no need for it lol

I dont doubt him at all, that's not the problem. My command tokens on the ground and in my inventory still only say command token. Oh and yeah, XP does have admins and what not, which is why I threw that in there as a side note. :)
