First off, let me tell you that I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read and reply. Thank you!
I believe it was wiped because it was against one of the rules that states that accusations need to have proof. It was entirely my fault and it's good that it was enforced because it keeps this place a clean and neutral ground for these sorts of conversations.
You are absolutely correct on that front. I must apologize once more. I was no doubt emotional when I originally typed out my experience. I have a little more clarity now that time has passed. After all that I have read, I will gladly retract my tinfoil hat accusation.
That is good to know. From what I have gathered here, it seems that your support is reliable. I suppose that option did not strike me immediately because of past experiences I've had in this space. On less reputable forums I've seen users being silenced, threads locked, messages deleted, etc. as soon as criticism arose or bans were reported. With that in mind I found it more wise to choose this forum as an unbiased platform.
That sounds acceptable to me. Maybe I was just one of those unlucky one in a thousand odd cases. I will gladly give him the benefit of the doubt, because when I checked the logs for his wallet he did only receive one such wrapped "Internal Txn" (transaction) similar to mine 1711 days ago. That's almost 5 years. It is possible that there is something unintuitive going on with Coinbase transactions.
I did not mean to criticize his fee. It's his business and he's free to charge as much as he likes for his services. It was just one of those surprise moments. Besides, I could still have said no at any point in time, but I was driven by impatience.
I will trust you on this one and accept that there was no ill will nor malevolence involved in all of this.
On the account that no funds have been received...Ahh, I'm so sorry. When I looked up the exact number of days for that aforementioned internal transaction, I found another angle to look at it which simply disallows me to consent to the statement.
May I ask of you, as politely as possible, to bear with me one final time? Then, this shall be the end of it.
I found a [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] on etherscan.io and it forwards to accurate wallet snapshots at any given time.
One of my initial fears was that this "exchanger" of his was indeed using a wallet at some coin exchange similar to Binance. If that was the case, then he could have received Ether and converted it to a stable coin (or similar) with no trace of it on the blockchain because the exchange does that for you, internally, at no fee since they hold billions of varying assets.
To my surprise however, no such thing seems to have happened with the wallet that Mar1k sent me. Aside from the impressive 100K in USDT, the wallet also holds some nine point something Ether as of writing this post.
Would it be possible to identify the $40 USD or 0.03361994 ETH that I have sent on the wallet's total balance?
The answer to that is a clear yes.
Fortunately, there have been only three Ethereum transaction within the past month which makes identifying the one coming from me relatively easy.

It should automatically fill in the wallet address and the current day. Blue button at the bottom right: Lookup --> Graph can be narrowed to Nov 17th, 2022 - Dec 17, 2022; Change Zoom value to 1m (One month).
If you hover over the graph you can see the increments:
- Monday, Nov 21, 2022: Ether Balance Value: 9.172721814190322
- Change (Eth): 0.04140 (0.45 %) <-- This is the transaction I briefly mentioned originally, which was 4 days old by the time I sent the money and which Mar1k referred to as the last "correct" transaction.
- Friday, Nov 25, 2022: Ether Balance Value: 9.206341754190321
- Change (Eth): 0.03362 (0.37 %) <== That's me!
- Monday, Nov 28, 2022: Ether Balance Value: 9.21516650227506
- Change (Eth): 0.00882 (0.10 %)
- Saturday, Dec 17, 2022: Ether Balance Value: 9.21516650227506

To sum it up: I did not send some crappy bootleg Coinbase coin; I sent real ERC-20 Ether which undoubtedly and undisputedly increased the recipient's wallet balance.
Maybe I should also clarify why I am so insistent on finding out what wallet (provider) he uses. It's because most wallets are very minimalistic and clearly show an intuitive transaction history. I want to see it with my own eyes that there is no incoming transaction or no increase in the wallet's balance, instead of having to rely on etherscan.io, an external tool. Here's the beauty of crypto however - everything is public record. An example of what I am talking about, a screenshot of MetaMask, one of the more popular wallets: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Much of the confusion could have been and can be avoided in the future, if there were some clear answers to the following questions.
- Who is in charge of the ERC-20 crypto wallet?
- Who is this exchanger of his? Is it a person? Is it a firm? Does it have a name, an identity?
- What kind of wallet is it that they are using? Binance, Metamask, Coinbase, crypto.com..?
What if we switched responsibility towards that exchanger then? Maybe it is them who messed up? I will tread lightly with any more assumptions, but I think Mar1k may not own an ERC-20 wallet himself. Maybe he has a crypto address but only for BTC and LTC. Maybe, when he receives funds for Ether or any other ERC-20 coin, he relies on an external entity to send an equal amount of LTC to him, in exchange for any ETH received by one of Mar1k's deals. Maybe their relationship is not as easy and as straight forward as it is to send an instant message on some messenger. It seems as if Mar1k is completely and totally reliant on that etherscan.io transaction list. That tells me that he does not have access to the wallet himself. Maybe he is the one in the disadvantageous position. Maybe he is the one being played by his crypto exchanger, who is concealing crucial information or turning a blind eye towards the coins they received? I wish these things could have been more clear.
Is this something that you can look into if you find it worthwhile? I hope that - at last - I could convince you that there is money which is now sitting comfortably in someone's pocket.
I find this very generous of you. And I am tempted to accept it since it'll definitely put my mind to rest. However, despite all of that has happened, I don't want you to feel obligated to reimburse me since you essentially had no play in it. Let us sleep on it one more day and maybe we can come to an agreement after you have read this post. Are you able to send Ether or would another method be required?
I feel bad for such a short reply after you wrote all of that.
But I would happily send you the $40 to resolve this situation soonest.
For me to re look into everything once more would take me a few hours, and that would cost me a lot more than $40 haha.
Shoot me a Dm with a wallet address and I’m happy to reimburse you.
