They will say, oh it is secure the account. But it is using personal information, that is not needed by them.

If they do, blizzard will demand it be taken down or ban the addon being used. Then people will ask for their money back. Then they would have to revert it.

They have so many paying customers and they want even more money

If they leave the addon as is, for the community to make their own guides, how would they block sharing of their routes? It's just a very simple .lua file after all that feeds text and waypoint data to the addon?

Yea and many people have asked the same question.
They want to share it with their partner, family (All in the same house). But the Devs say, everyone in the house has to pay for their own copy.

Why have they become so greedy, though?
I had some of Tactics older videos running on the 2nd screen while leveling, where he was creating the guide steps etc. and it always sounded like a pleasure project for him and he said their guide would be a lot cheaper than existing ones.

The pricing model they have in place now is pretty rough already and it looks like they're trying to extract even more money from the community.

Exactly, the price is way high and they want more

Well, so many people use it. So easy to create a guide and if the community made guides, it would be easier. But people want someone else to do it instead
