Sry but i had to laugh when i read that you rly BOUGHT that old Cm Archlord package. Okay may u simply didnt know it.
So if u installed it and it didnt worked (ofc >.>) u should also clean ur registry. Open ur regedit and search for every single Archlord or Codemasters Folder and delete it. Be careful if u got any other Cm games like LotRO installed.
First u should use a cleaning tool. I prefer Piriform Ccleaner:

Most easy and pretty cool tool. But u still should check the regedit.
I would also prefer to download the Webzen client from Gamershell. May not the fastest one but its more comfortable for those who dont use torrent-loaders.
If u got the Torrent Downloader....so use it :)
Start the setup and install the game. Make sure u got an Account at Webzen.
After installing has finished u should click the AL Icon on ur Desktop and the Webzen Website will open. Log into ur account and press the Start Button. There will Pop Up a grey window telling you to download a Webzen Game Starter. Download and install!
After installation process has finished close the browser...may u wanna do a PC restart. Fell free to do so.
Now u should be able to start the game. Always be sure to be logged into ur account.
I'll take a look on those problems u descriped even if i dont see any problem of downloading the game. For me everything works fine.
