Many of you have been getting the IDS_APP_SHUTDOWN1 error message. A large percentage of you have been using netbooks to try and play CA. Not a good idea. Considering that the game has significantly increased in what you actually need to run this game with regards to the specifications of your computer hardware.
If you have a netbook - there's your first problem. Get a new computer or a new desktop to play.If you have a desktop or a laptop that can definetly play this game - I suggest you download the latest videocard driver updates. If you have a laptop - get the latest drivers from your laptop manufacturer. Otherwise head over to ATI or Nvidia to get your latest updates.I also did some side research on the definition of IDS: Intrusion Detection System - Software employed to monitor and detect possible attacks and behaviors that vary from the normal and expected activity. The IDS can be network-based, which monitors network traffic, or host-based, which monitors activities of a specific system and protects systems files and control mechanisms.Hmm ...that sounds alot what Ahnlabs can do. If you do a search on google for "ahnlabs IDS", you will see that ahnlab does in fact advertise themselves as an IDS provider.
What could be going wrong is that your computer may have a boot virus/malware on your computer that they believe may cause damage to Nexon. In my case, I was watching video's on a certain site, and One day it popped up with a message saying - your computer has been identified with distrubuting DDoS attacks to our website. Hackers use YOUR computer to do damage to another organization. To continue watching video's I had to completely wipe the hard drive with professional software that did a low level format. Then once I installed windows once again was I able to continue watching videos. Your ISP provider can also block your access to the Internet providing organizations put out a complaint against your IP with proof of an attack on their systems from YOUR IP.IDS can also, judging from the definition, can scan your network for any malicious intent. Any forms of hacks can be classified as malicious intent to do damage. How else to VIP froobs use their gamecrasher hacks. They are using malicious code to disconnect you from Nexon's game. That is interfering directly with Nexon's business and they SHOULD be mad at you. Maybe that computer that you're playing on is clean. Free of hacks. Your LEGIT computer. But that doesn't mean Nexon can't detect, using Ahnlab, that you may have hacks on another computer in your home network - or the network you are connected to. This includes VPN's, Procksies etc... So if you use any of the last two protocols - then it may be detecting someone else's computer that has hacks or malicious code that may damage Nexon's business that MAY come from your computer and causing you to have this error.I may be wrong - but I'm just trying to shine some light on this problem - and hopefully this will help out some people.Hmm .. Since this IS an ahnlab product - you may try to reinstall ahnlabs hackshield program to see if that works for you.
