or...just use my idea. since the client sends the server he's going to login on, you could change the name of the server to the client's version. Players won't have any reason why to change it because without a proper version the client will simply not work....

My plan was it to develop a source base wich accepts any client besides the ones with the AuthSeed.

So the servernamechange is not rly the thing i want.

actually... on old patches, after the client connects , it sends the auth info packet, use this... if an auth packet doesnt come to the server in the next 2 seconds(too bad for laggers) you send the seedpacket. after that you just read the version of the client from the auth packet starting from server's name offsets.

voila, problem fixed

Again.. Ill not mod the servername. The goal is it to enable logins from ANY client, without any client file edits.
