Looking for team members

if someone can make a tutorial on sniffing packets i may join to

Well theres no much into it really, sniff is just "grab" network packets from or to your pc.

Programs to do it that i know: wireshark, wpepro, tcpdump or any sniffer made for the particular program or protocol ur sniffing. Like rev6 sniffer, edx one, etc.

The rest is just googling and trying it out.

the problem is even If we will download this programs, How we start?
we need to learn a bit, we need an expert guy who know how this all works and how to sniff packets then he can make an Tutorial/Guide, when more and more people will learn how to do this many will join to help in emulator projects.

true was messin with one of the programs he mentions but I am a bit lost so do we have to play ksro to get the packets do we have to creat an account and connect to the server to get the packets or do we simply grab the server IP and let the program handle it from there ?

well hex translation is easy if its a string, but there is still all those other bytes people :p

where did the first person learn it then?

I can tell you for sure, I've learn to parse Silkroad's packets all by my own.
the only thing I've been told was the packet build (Len-Opcode-Security bytes-Data).
I had to do the rest on my own.
I'm not the best when it comes to parsing, sometimes it requires a lot of time for me.
but it doesn't matter how many times you go wrong with parsing, you can keep on parsing untill you fully parse the packet.
(S>C packets are usually easier to parse because you can get a visual result if you inject/send them, in most cases)

Take Eckoro as an example, he's neat when it comes to packet parsing, he parsed almost every packet in SRO (or at least most of them :P).
I've seen few of his packets parsing and it's crazy, every single byte is parsed.
it just requires a lot of time and sometimes a little (or not-so-little) boring job,
depends on how complicated the packet is and how experienced you are.
read Drew's tutorials about Silkroad's packets system to understand the build of Silkroad's packets and you're good to go.
