You don't even have to pay to play, as without donors, the server will be online forever as long as the owner is still around. The server is hosted on a powerful machine with up to 128GB of RAM, though that's actually excessive. The Alpha developers are really paying attention to development, even creating minigames that trigger interesting events that make it easy for players to obtain items.:handsdown:
