The addon is for cata classic.
If you went to the link you would see it says cata classic.

Meh that's almost it but there is some handling that need to be done if you have special chars into your bnet name, also the b64 algo used is a "homemade" implementation from SC, so your mileage may vary widely here depending on the said conditions.

As for the Cataclysm version being non functionnal:

I stopped playing a bit ago and I don't have access to my desktop right now but I'll try to take a look and fix it in the following days, if anyone wants to be my test subject for the fixed ""generator"" feel free to shoot me a PM since I'm not playing Cataclysm classic and I have no way to test it reliably.

I did and i didn't find it on the Version to apply - there is no Import String on CurseForge as Addon supplier.
