I purchased the dma cycle cheese and had a hell of a time setting it up. During the setup there was a detection for the remote mode (displaying on main monitor) so that was probably why I couldn't get it to work. The dev jumped into my support ticket and got me running the 2nd PC method for esp. everything works as you would expect it to. For some reason I get blue screens using proton to overlay the esp onto the game stream but without the streaming side everything works fine. The blue screening doesn't seem to have anything to do with the cheese and others are using proton just fine.
TLDR: 2nd PC esp works just fine. No complaints. Waiting on an update for remote mode. (Overlay esp on main screen)
