but.. doesn't nexon know about this? i mean GMs ingame always have this on... and hide too. So wouldn't the modification more of dll based? cuhs there must be strings to enable to u be a GM... or is it kinda server based? -brainexplosion- im confused D:

if you mean the glitches. then yeah they know. aldeel experienced it first hand. as for client side modding its hard to notice. unless you make it obvious to them. ie 1 charge fb or something like that. however server side modding ie packet editing is traceable. and if nexon wanted to they can take charges against P.E'ers like alaplaya has done. people forget that nexon owns the copyright to mabi thus they think they cant take legal actions. only if they read they would know that this is not the case. and for gms. you rarly see them cause they are busy fixing the glitches they make

Gm skills are server sided

Also, keep in mind that the client is divided into sections, player, GM and NPC. If you log into the normal client there is NO chance of you being able to use the GM skills.

you can't log into the clients, there's no GUI to do so, they just simply exist.

There is no GM client, or NPC client. Just a regular client that GM's AND regular players use.
There are GM strings that have your client detect if your account is a GM, however, and enables you to ban and the such.

However, as far as I know, there is no way to make the server think you're a GM via modification of those strings.
It might be possible to send a packet to the server saying you're a GM, however. But you'd need to log in to a GM account and record the packets used on that account to be able to do so.

And even then, that would cause problems with Nexon security, so there's probably a checksum on that packet.
Thus, why you don't see random noobs running around banning people and using GM skills.

It is also impossible to use GM skills, because GM skills are completely seperate skills from the skill set regular players use, and as we all know, there's no way to use a skill you don't have.

Edit: And the reason there's no client for GM's, is because someone could easily just unpack the client, look for the checks on if you're a GM, and make it say you're a GM. Which would cause much havoc, as well as security issues.
