Why packing at all?
Someone cracks something, and wants to release the cracked version..... But before, he packs it in order to hide...what?? the few JMPs he made in the code?
This is the reason why people think it is fishy.... Why packing something which you cracked.
Looking at the cracker scene - the cracked exes you can get are all UNPACKED.
Crackers who release cracked exes (not talking about patchers) are all unpacked. And then there is the SRO "cracker" scene, where people unpack .net code with 1-click-upackers, modify soemthing (or even add some interesting code for own profit) and then pack it again and release it as "crack".
Only in SRO you will find a crack for a crack for a crack for a bot/proxy/tool/whatever :D
