The video how the dupe worked:
No modified files nothing.
When was the dupe possible? On the 2nd day of the launch or to be more precise after around 16-18hours after early access release.
Why was the dupe possible?
The server had massive issues and you had huge ingame lags.
For example.
Collecting 1 item took 2-3 minutes for the server to actually transfering the item in your inventory.

Other exploits that are more or less known:
0 gravity (a simple configuration in certain .ini files)
Got FIXED by the way
