They have to make money somehow in order to pay the hosting fees for the dedicated server they rent and I don't think anyone would want to donate and receive nothing in return.

that was a bit dumb phrased from me xD i meant servers that are like: pay 30€ and you can get this and this while the other players have to farm 1 month for it. Or when there are things in it that you cant get ingame

Normal Cash shop with normal things in it is completely okay.
