I would love to see the addition of the feature to stop the bot when encountering something that broadcasts server wide.
This features is already planned and released very soon!

Edit: It's released!

Great that you've implemented this feature, however I just encountered a Vulpix (which I had selected for the bot to not kill), and the bot thought it was a Gulpin and killed it anyway.

The same seems to apply elsewhere, as a friend is farming in the Power Plant, and the bot thinks a Voltorb is a Vulpix.

Not sure if it's an issue of the Pokemon IDs being incorrect?

Thanks for the reply.

Since i use a system to detect text from an image (the pokemon name from the game screen) it can happen, that a pokemon is not detected correctly. The reason for that is mostly the tiny font size of the pokemon name in game. I am sorry about that but i can't really do something to fix this issue.

The good thing is: It is consistent, which means that the bot will for example detect every Vulpix as a Gulpin (in your example). So you could tell the bot to NOT KILL Vulpix AND Gulpin - that should fix the problem.

Moreover that: Pokemon names which are similar to each other could be mistaken by the bot. To be safe you could select every similar name for the bot to not kill (Like Vulpix/Gulpin).
Similarity means the number of matching letters in the pokemon name: Vulpix/Gulipin have for example 4 letters in common which is quite a lot for a 6 letter word.

I hope the "don't kill" function is still useful for you guys.

Thanks for the speedy reply, much appreciated and your explanation of the issue makes complete sense.

The workaround is easy enough to use, and it's not enough of an issue to stop me using the bot.

I did test this out again earlier, to not kill a Wurmple. The bot worked perfectly, and sent a message to my phone via Telegram, so no complaints from me.

Thanks again for the reply, and all the work you've put into the bot!

EDIT: Actually while I'm here, I currently use the bot on a Windows computer, and it works perfectly.
I recently tried to get it working on my Macbook Pro running OS X 10.10, and while it moves fine, it doesn't attack. I wasn't sure if this was an issue with resolution, but tried it plugged into a monitor and it still doesn't work.
Do you know of any issues that would stop the bot from working on a Mac?

Thanks for your reply, i am glad that the bot works as expected!

Technically it should run on a Mac too (that's the big advantage of using Java). Running but not attacking sounds like a resolution/display error.

Does the bot detect an encounter? (the number in the bot menu should rise if it detects an encounter)

If no:

The game screen needs to have a size of 1024px (width) and 640px (height) to work. To verify that you could open your browser console and type $('#myflash').css('width'); and $('#myflash').css('height'); to check the size of your game. If this is correct you could try to run the bot manually via the console (as described on the info page of the bot) to see if there are any errors.

If yes:

I don't know yet, maybe try to run bot manually too to see if there are errors

Hello, don't worry, i am sure we can fix this.

First of all i need to know if the bot detects an encounter correctly. Does the number behind "encounters" in the main menu rise when a battle starts?

Also its very important that you selected the top left coordinate of the game correctly. Otherwise the bot can't work. To learn how to select it you can visit my info page. ("Help" button in the bot or visit the page where you downloaded it).

Furthermore: The game screen needs to have a size of 1024px in width and 640px in height, which should be the case usually. In addition to that it has to be visible for the bot - you need to scroll the window so that it fits on the screen completely.

If all of this doesn't help we will find another solution.

Hi man...first this bot really works well on my PC...since i want to do other things now i decided to use my MacBook to farm EV's so i can play something else instead of watching my computer doing things :D
Thats where the shit started. I tried so many things now...i updated Flash Player and Java...i changed to different resolutions but all of them doesnt work. The encounter doesnt go up and the bot doesn't attack. I can use the top left corner overlay (and used the manual one too) and it fits perfectly with the actual resolution but it doesn't work. Do you have any ideas what i can try?

Hello friend,

thanks for your reply!

There seems to be an issue with Mac and the Bot. This is probably caused by different color profiles you can select on Mac.
I don't have a Mac, so i can't reproduce this issue, but you could test for me to switch color profile in the settings.
To do this:

- Go to display settings
- Go to color
- Select Generic RGB profile

This should hopefully fix the issue.
Explanation: If a different color profile is selected, your computer will display slightly different colors than the bot expects, that's why it doesn't work.

Please report back, if this fixed your issue!
If not, we will find another solution.

Hi man :) thank you for the fast reply.

Yeah that clearly makes sense to me since he is still pressing a/d after the encounter so he doesn't even detect the fight. I tried all color profiles now but all of them doesn't work. :( You have anything else I could try?

A general fix for mac users is coming soon.

Common issue on mac:
Bot doesnt detect an encounter and doesnt attack

Root of the issue:
Mac uses different color profiles ( which can be adjusted individually in the settings) than other operating systems. This leads to wrong results for the bot that tries to read screen colors in order to detect an encounter.

Solution (coming soon):
There will be an option for the bot to adjust to the color profile of the mac. This should enable to bot to detect encounters correctly again.
