That may not always be entirely true.

I remember ya lil fucker from when you were my #1 metin2 section mod years ago <3 Good to see you're still around Eddie!

BTT: I'm certain it's not, since when I'm not mining, chrome only uses about 1-2% of the GPUs power. Thus the extra usage comes from mining. And even more GPU power is used when mining with more threads.

Try Microsoft Edge instead of IE if you have it. Otherwise install another browser. I'm sure it's bc of IE.

Goldmine uses the mining script from coinhive.com which only utilize the CPU, it's even stated at their website
it really doesn't matter which GPU you have if you only mine via web miner

Why don't you try a browser that didn't die 15 years ago?

idk I've been just using IE and it runs very well when browsing, chrome gives me too much plugins and its irritating.

I suggest you try something like firefox or opera, even edge if you have it.

so in your case, that would be an Intel i7-7700HQ

Well, it can
the Mining Script uses WebAssembly/asm.js to calculate the hashes, which doesn't work really well with Internet Explorer (Internet Explorer not Edge!)
also to obtain 100+ Hashes/s you would need several miner threads running, Internet Explorer isn't really suited for that

It isn't meant to make a lot of money, the Goldmine script is useful to run it at the background if you are browsing on elitepvpers anyway

If you want to mine a crypto currency (like the mentioned [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]) you are better off by using a native Miner Executable (which can utilize your GPU)
a native miner could achieve probably 300+ Hashes/s with an Intel i7-7700K
Monero mining doesn’t really benefit from using a GPU. That’s why the creators of coinhive chose it in the first place, it’s very suitable for CPU mining.
