Are you in the directory with monster.dat?
The screenshot shows you are in C:\documents and settings\<username>...
Maybe you should go to c:\games\Conquer\ini ?
Or copy monster.dat to c:\games\monster and work with it there before overwriting the conquer\ini one...

The new patch disabled it. Although ive discovered some cool things. There are now "fake" doves and "real" doves. A lot of people know the spawns of the old meteordoves. They have not changed. To know what dove is a real dove (Giving 5 mets) and what doves are fake (The older treasurebirds) its easy for an archer to scatter and see how much dmg you do to the doves. The meteordoves that will give you 5 have 10 times more defence then the fake doves. This means you hurt fake doves for example 1k and the real doves you hit only 100. Be aware that the real doves still hurt you as much as meteordoves did before!

In the new .dat file they now added another meteordove. The treasurebird is out. The only difference between the two meteordoves are the TypeID's. One is set to 8415 and one to 8416. I dont know what it means but it must be the key to get bigger "real" doves again...

Ive taken the old monster.dat to see the difference here. It seems that treasurebirds had the TypeID 8416. The key must be somewhere there but im not that good in this :)

well i've tried everything in monster.dat. change hp, id, wont work..

the id 8145 is the real metdove...
the id 8146 is the others..

no matter how i did the 8145 looks the same as 8146

Change colours maybe? Seems like last option left

Or there was this program that warned u when there was a metdove within 2 screens..
Maybe can use that on new dove as well cauze ID is diff?

If someone can tell me the file name, or attach the file for the skin of the metdove, I will edit the color of the dove and see if there is a difference........

Thats the whole problem, I cant find the file with the TypeID's. If you find it, its easy as pie...
01/18/2006 10:10 bobo2#29
What i think now is that it gets the TypeID from the server. Its not on your main pc. Its streaming that info. What it gets from your pc is the skin that is simular to the name (MeteorDove in this case). Changing the name is no option, I tried, it will get the same skin as the fake doves...

MeteorDove is now server side, Server is sending info > client for MZ just how it is for players. that is why there is no bar hp
