Since the thread is just a code giveaway (one use codes) and it was created 2 years ago, it's obvious that they don't work so that invalidates the "only allowed if there id a good reason".
So, sure, you have freedom to do whatever you want but what you do must be according the rules.
Anyways, if it isn't clear enough, no, those codes aren't working atm. They were obtained through a promotion at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] I don't know if the page keeps on giving them
