I have been tinkering around with the c3 and dmap files a little and using a hex and ascii editor to view them I kinda thik they just tell the exe where to look for certain graphic files this is just preliminary outlook seeing I just started looking at them tonight. No programs I have found so far will open them for further inspection. I will keep posted here with more information.

The graphic files for maps are referenced in puzzle files (.pul).
.DMap files contain information about co-ordinates such as height, and whether or not you can access it.
c3 files are 3D shells for monsters/players/NPCs

ok so why would the c3 need to be "hacked" if they are just graphics files. and wouldnt the client handle the output from DMap so again I ask why does DMap files need to be "hacked".
I am not flaming only wondering why graphics files need to be hacked? :?

They don't directly, but correlating graphics in game with graphic IDs (filenames) helps enormously with identifying and bulding databases as well as packet analizing.

so there isn't any way to keep this project alive, maybe on an underground server? and wiht private testers of the server?
10/15/2005 21:03 Qonquer#30
That's for sure serph. With the shiz our project caused, i would imagine any future PS projects that anyone started would definately be underground and certainly not advertised anywhere, epecially on a forum that TQ regularly monitor.
