First observation, is that to preven people to bot ? cause the bot will not find pk2 file ?

No its just a proof of concept on how to make your own File Format. The demo-format is "none", meaning that all files are in folders on your disk. That allows you to change the files without using annoying pk2 tools.

But the idea is to create a different file format. Maybe add some kind of compression because DDS (DDJ) is a highly wasteful storage format.

Yes, it breaks a lot of bots and other tools (edxLoader). But it also allows creating tools and bots completely proof against any PK2 modification (unless MeGaMax changes the API, I kinda created a monopoly for him here :P).

so it's mean i can make the client read the changed format from via dll example"Changed the DDJ format to PNG"im is right? or just cahnge the .pk2 format to .lib or any thing like this ??

If i try to update my client via SMC, i get a Error after download.
Cannot exec CPFileManager::Create
Failed to write updated version.
Is there a fix for it ?

I think the replacer.exe can not update the files we get from server because he cant find the pk2 files anymore, right?

This is the best tool to work with pk2 without spending a lot of time trying out changes.
