Some considerations...

- server listen in all ips available.
- ip is detected for each client, when you edit the sortcut with value http://SERVER_IP:1337/soapbox-race/
- udp is working only in pure network (not working inside vpn of any kind like hamachi, tungle, pptp, open vpn, etc)
- udp works with no package loss and ping below 200ms.

So... udp server should work only on Lan and high quality and speed internet without vpn.

Some day somebody fix it. I dunno what to do yet.

@[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]: Ok, so we must wait, until there's a proper solution for this. :)

@[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] Just to inform you: you can running 2 instances of nfs (soapbox.exe) with 2 profiles using the same game path :)

Just create 2 shorcuts for player 1 and player 2!

Tomorrow I will test the LAN using 2 PCs!

Oh, that's why I couldn't play through hamachi with a friend of mine..

I only can say, that we are closer than ever.

VPN protocol should be piece of cake compared to make run a dead game online again...

Sorry about that, was a bug in the ip detection... works only on LAN environments, or connected direct on internet with public ip, not working behind router.

I fixed it to next release.

If you are able to compile source, checkout the branch release, build the jar, and replace it where you installed the server.

Hey guys, I made a quick install-guide for the installer:

1. You need the "cracked"-version from here:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
2. Then you need the installer from here:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
3. Install the "soapbox-race-installer.exe".
4. Make a Backup from the Original nfsw.exe (Found here: .../ProgramData/Electronic Arts/Need For Speed World/Data) - make sure you have "hide folders" disabled.
5. Your must put the "cracked version" into the folder, where your original nfsw.exe is located.
Rename the soapbox.exe to nfsw.exe.
6. Make a shortcut from the cracked version to the desktop.
7. Now you must change the Target. Click with rightclick on "Properties" and then choose "Shortcut".
8. Target: Behind ...nfsw.exe you must add this: "US [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] a 1"
9. Start the 2 applications (it's the server you installed before) on your desktop.
10. Run nfsw.exe (the shortcut on your desktop).

That's all. Hope that helps so far. :)

@[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] dont need to rename soapbox.exe.

At least for me the server worked well just placing soapbox.exe in the DATA directory and making the shortcuts after the installer finishes

Anyway thanks for the guide :D

@[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]: Well, I just thought at the beginning, that it's nice to have the Original name, instead of something else. But, if that works too, I'm just fine with it. :)

Can someone explain me this? Do you mean 2 PCs from 2 different networks could play using the host IP?

Sorry, this point is a bit confusing for me :/

Means direct connection to the modem, no routers or bridges to 'widen' the wireless network. Could be virtual bridges in the PC too.(If you don't even know what this means, you probably don't have it.)

Don't know how to explain it any simplier.

You -> internet -> friend srv (works)

You -> internet -> friend router -> friend srv (don't work)

You -> lan -> friend server (work)

You -> vpn -> friend server (udp fail)

So I have a router (DSL). Looks like this: PC (server) -> Router -> Internet -> friend (nfsw). This doesn't work, right?
