You are not. They fxed the problem serverside.

One because I didnt know it. A friend abused it and wouldn't tell me crap. He told it to me when it was patched. Oh and -Sokhar- would report it to a gm.

so the way this worked was that you put items that arnt gems into the socket npc in PC?? would it actually let the non-gems stick in the slots?? if they just made it so you couldnt "insert" them, then couldnt you edit the client and make it so you can do it again? what im saying is are we sure its a server side thing?

They only checked for the first byte. So you find a item with the same first byte as it and socket it in. But now they check for the full thing so it wont work.
