still work dude just maybe your charles cerificate has block by other cerificate
try open "certmgr.msc" on run or win + r
and put charles cerificate to "trusted root certification authorities"
i use win8 maybe still same with win7 or winxp

If installing certificate in charles is not still working try this:
Go to chrome://settings
Then find HTTP/SSL
Click Manage Certificates
after that click Import...
Browse to your charles folder location then go to doc
and open/choose charles-proxy-ssl-proxying-certificate
just press next until finish..
it should work now.

Right click at it and click SSL Proxying. Clear your cache and try again

if after installing the socket , its not working close out chrome and reopen it . I had issue till that . After installing the certificate , close chrome and reopen working like a champ now
