this is what i've heard so far:
- the server owner is too stupid to make profit from it thus he shut it down
- the owner scammed money

Why is it the game that needs to suffer from incompetent admins/owners that have no clue how to run shit.
The adds looked like shit a 12 year old had drawn in mspaint and bots were spamming official. REALLY??? This totally looks legit.
No updates, news, anything that makes the server look alive.
Hell the owner never even wrote a THING.
The only one that actually did something was flip.
This game deserves better than this. Why and how do ppl like this get the files?

Yeah... I really wanted to see this succeed, but nothing was getting fixed or suggestions being taken for the entire time I was playing. And they expected us to raise $500 per month with that kind of support, from what I gather? Don't make me laugh.

Greetings Milletians.
Mabinogi Reborn launched offically at 1/11/2015 and has unexpectly pulled the plug at 1/26/2015 without warning.
I was the only last surviving GM that was still benefiting and taking care of the community as much as I possibly can until the final days.
The reason for the server to be shutting down was not because of legal issues, but the server owner was displeased with the numbers of players on the server and has decided
to shut down due to that solely reason.
Also me and Z had limited power in this situation. The server owner was not willing to share most of the files thus we was not able to fix some server sided glitches.
I still cared about Mabinogi.
These limitations is what makes the server go downhill, as well as the main community being scared of playing in a private server. Sending out rumors of Nexon banning you if you play in this server, or us stealing accounts for who knows why reason.
This was a legitimate server that that had full gameplay capability up to G13. Unfortunately the host himself not being able to understand us as a whole and us being limited to accessing the files to fix the game quests caused this server to go downhill.

Thanks for the kind words and updates on what happened Flip. I could tell you cared and I'm sad to see it go.
If there were ever a properly managed server like this with a different owner, they could do nothing but benefit by having you on board, and I'll hopefully be able to join back in too.
This was THE #1 reason for lack of players, as far as I'm concerned, as well as everyone who freaked out and jumped ship the day we got the "10 day" warning. Shame it couldn't even last that long before Captain Unstable cut us off. If we had improvement instead of fizzling, it might've gotten better.Quote:

What was the owner thinking.
Most people on official really invested in their characters. Did he really think he can get hundreds in the first 2 weeks by spamming?
