Don’t get caught!

Phishing scams are serious business and even the savviest interwebs citizens can get caught. Phishing attempts can come from lots of places: email, social media, text messages and more. The best way to not get phished is to know when and where you’ll hear from Riot – it’ll only be here on riotgames.com, on our official @riotgames twitter or in an official Riot Games email. Riot Games emails will come from one of the following domains. If it’s coming from somewhere else, it’s not us

@riotgames.com (emails directly from Rioters)
@email.riotgames.com
@leagueoflegends.com
@email.leagueoflegends.com
@riotgames.zendesk.com

In the past we’ve used the following domains, but we no longer use them:

@e.riotgames.com
@e.leagueoflegends.com
@leagueoflegends.com

The most common League of Legends phishing scams are those that claim to give you free RP if you download a program (malware) or if you enter your login information on a site. Riot’ll never do this, so don’t fall for it. Also, beware of sites that look like leagueoflegends.com, but are actually fake sites.

There

No, it comes from rito.

I received the same message three hours ago for a couple of accounts with 100 refs each. Nothing removed yet, but i'm pretty sure they will do it as soon as possible, since they already "catched" me/us.
The same for three more friends, so i bet that a massive revoke wave is coming for all of us ;)
GG wp rito we got outplayed like a boss :sad:

lol @ all the people saying it's a fake email. You guys serious? what does the guys gain from bullshiting. This is a real email from Riot

I received this message for my main and smurf account. My main does not seem to have any skins/champs missing, but that may be coming in the future. My smurf got perma banned, but for some reason I still got the same email as my main that says "any FUTURE violations may result in a ban". Still do not have an actual message addressing the ban.

Well its not a Fake Email ? Then analyze the email header..

Shall I help you ?! One example:

Original:
From: "League of Legends" <[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]>

Fake (this is what we have got):
- From: riotgames <[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]>

Do you guys actually think a company like Riot would happen things like this ? The fucking company name is "Riot Games" not riotgames.. Also check the hostname (the name before the @). Its with capital L and the sender Name is "League of Legends". Ofcourse they have other sender names as well, but all of them are absolutely different to this one. They would never use a sender name just like "riotgames". They actually have jobs at riot which make sure that things like this doesn't happen in publicity...

Furthermore a lot ppl with a good email client should see smth like a hint for a phishing try, because there are some links redirecting not to the original link which you can see. Do you actually think THIS would happen to Riot which uses a external company for sending E-Mails (and sending mass emails is their core competence) ? [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

The only argument which supports that this E-Mail is from Riot is that they have the Summonername+E-Mail address, nothing else. I am still sure that this E-Mail isnt from Riot.

Email is correct tho, just the small L is not like normal (which still makes the email valid tho as you know for yourself). But you're quite observant noticing that the email header is somewhat wrong, as every business has strict layouts for their whole communication via email, which means they'd alyways use the same header without any typos or missing spaces. So I'm still not sure if it's fake or not, but I hope it is. At least I didn't get an email yet :x

Why should care anymore what do you believe or what not. I am wasting time here, doesn't matter how good or how much I argument. Its fake and there are a lot bullshitter out there. I handled a lot customers outside of epvp which wrote me. None of them had deleted content. And there are a lot of arguments which support that this E-Mail isn't from riot.
