The hosts file and the lmhosts file serve completely different purposes. lmhosts is typically used for workgroup and domains when domain name resolution fails (WINS, DNS lookup, etc). Where the hosts file is for binding hostnames to IP addresses without using domain name resolution.Quote:

Find a file called "Hosts" in the drivers folder, copy paste it into ur etc folder, then open both lmhosts and hosts using notepad, copy all the crap from lmhosts to hosts; done.

All you had to do was create a hosts file. Instead, it may be better to use the lmhosts file as an example of how the format for the hosts should be. Since they _almost_ use the same format. The lmhosts has more extended options than the hosts.
