Please explain how to "make new rdb files from sql" step by step please.
I'm trying really hard to understand all this, but I am struggling with it.

Reviewing the tools listed...is it acceptable to use the 7.4 tools for the Royal Repack (which has 8.2 elements to be inserted into an 8.1 client) ?

Why not use 8.1 tools if you are working with 8.1?

8.2 is just hybrid files the base is still 8.1

To be honest...I am completely new at rdb and resource editing...and not knowing about the 8.1 tools...I could only ask about what you had linked me to...which was the 7.4 tools. (To which I do appreciate your replies and advice...thank you for that.)

I am trying with the Royal Repack.and Zeusa client..I did manage to get HV working...but rdb and string resource....I feel ..well...overwhelmed.

I tried the rdb editors from the link you gave me ..(and I guess maybe it's because they are 7.4 ?) but none worked....all I got was error messages saying "bad data" when I tried to load the Arcadia db.

The link was to teach you about resourcing. Not about what tools to use as I stated when I linked it.

You were to learn about resourcing but then use the correct tools that you would need to use.

There is also a very nice release by glandu2 where you can build reader writers for any epic you want and it comes with some already pre built...
