Blitzkrieg - Old School v5039+

Yes, I would try to stay awake and finish till tonight but I haven't slept since 8 PM yesterday. I have to go to bed, I'm done... But I promise Sunday night, around 10 PM, the server will be up and running again.

I'm sorry, I broke my promise and didn't respected the deadline but I can't work any more, I'm really tired, slept about 5 hours out of 48 and tomorrow I go to work. I won't give an exact ETA for now but I believe tomorrow will be ready because there are just a few more adjustments to be made which won't take too long. I'm deeply sorry for this. Thank you for understanding!

Its always good to let a server run and work on updates the same time. But yeah.. hopefully tomorrow :)

Let the server run online and have a copy local which you work on, then when the update is finished you just move a copy to the server.

Of course that's exactly what I do but the changes I've made affected the current created users so there would be no point in keeping the server alive then wiping the database. I chose to shut it down until I finish what I had to do because there were not many users created (less than 10) and wiping the database wouldn't affect the server progress so much because, basically, there was no progress, just a few users with some free awarded items (nothing really is gonna be lost).

I'm not really sure why and how someone can hate on us so much. It seems our server was attacked, and we couldn't at least get the user db backup. Does it worth to set it up once again or let this project dead? Do you see any future for it? I'm confused... I will try now to set the server up again and I'll leave it be. I apologize and I'm really sorry for what happened, but again, because of no server progress, nothing valuable was lost just a few accounts. It's kinda demotivating but the least we can do is set it up and running once again and continue to struggle.

Unfortunately, a lot of people attack servers in most private sever communities. It's their way of taking out the competition. It's sad that it has to be some mafia business strategy instead of just a something to do for fun, because it ruins great servers. It just leaves the copy severs - the ones that can afford to pay for the best severs to ddos and host from. Some servers even have it so you contribute towards their attacks while you play the client. It's just disgusting. I wouldn't lose motivation, though. Just make sure you're doing regular backups and that the server is saving regularly.

Well, I already decided and I'll continue to update/keep the server online no matter what; because that's what I promised! During the downtime I implemented a new NPC "MysticOldman" that can lock or unlock your equipment (free usage), another one called "HighPriestess" that can bless your equipment for 7 TortoiseGems and changed some core messages to become more accurate.

If you read carefully at the end of the patch highlights, you'll notice that a certain NPC doesn't provide equipment having gems pre-added. In the past, the same NPC provided equipment having gems pre-added so I removed them, put them in a regular CP shop and wiped the entire item database. Also, in the past, new born heroes were already 2nd reborned and since I implemented a reborn system, I've wiped the whole character table. I know I could have just updated the table so the already created characters will become non-reborn but I was a matter of things that led to the complete wipe. It were like less then 10 characters created so, statistically, nothing was lost because everything that was given, was provided again, for free.

Yes, I changed the required HighPriestess fee to 999 CPs per blessing process. It was highlighted in the Patch 1004. The Diamonds are used to reborn your character (after you purchase the token, in order to cast it upon you - right click on it - your hero must have 9999 Diamonds stashed, otherwise you won't be able to reborn.

If you want to cast the Heaven Blessing, you'll also need 999 Diamonds and if you want to get out of the Jail after you were arrested, you'll need to pay to the Warden a fine of 100 Diamonds.

This type of untradable currency called Diamonds was created with the purpose of maintaining a balance between the players somehow. When I first thought about it, it was like "let's create something that cannot be traded so the players will actually have to work and dedicate for that hero".

Well, I like the concept. It would be amazing if there were atleast 2 players online at once haha. Whenever I logged in i was alone.. I just came back to sniff for some packets xD

Unfortunately, yes, there is almost no one, at any given time. I hope this situation will change over time and we will become the 1st choice for the players.
