I guess so. On my YT channel you can find interview (but in polish) with a guy who was DarkOrbit (and other BP games) administrator. He said there that russians won one case in court (all was about game rules which were mostly settled to germany and russia isn't germany).

Thanks to that they've got some privileges but I don't know all details. Also I don't know who started this "war" in court.
