What Happened to Aceeo?

w8 did the people who shut it down and closed their server have to pay fine or tons of money?

no u get a letter from TQ telling u to close ur server and if u dont do so they will get u in court and ye u will lose money and alot of them so better when u get the letter to close it so far it closed 3 servers :|

so for those who closed it p didnt have to pay any fine> right or worse :O

ace eo is shutted by tq bec it was a large server

i think that a 1 one of alpha-online or acme eo sayrd to tq about it at live support sorry i only doubt that i am not sure

can bouth of u edit those post so no more double posts and i think TQ is going to shut down most of the servers

Try telling your members not to go into other private servers with those claims, thats where they come from and people in your server say it regularly. Maybe you should be in there more often?
As for ridiculous, I doubt it, but you are entitled to your opinion i guess.
Also, you may be in Sweden, but 2 of the servers so far closed by TQ were BOTH IN EUROPE, that would suggest your server isnt as immune as you seem to think.
So i guess Europe and UK are now part of America, i guess geography isnt taught in Sweden? In which case you are also in America, as Sweden is in NORTHERN EUROPE.
No i am not inciting an arguement. I am pointing out the errors in your post, because you took apparent offence at the comment about TQ giving you a server, not about me hoping you are closed too.

Update as to why the servers were closed.

Apparently, FHEO was closed because the server owners SOLD the server. Which is apparently against the rules. Selling the hardware without the EO client on it? What is the crime there? Also, as every player on that server was aware, the client was going to be replaced anyway. I dont see any breach of the law there, but i am no lawyer.

AceEo was apparently closed because they claimed to be a better server than TQ London. Which is true, they were a better server. No lagging, nice drops, friendly staff, unlike TQ. Can anyone who plays TQ London servers actually name any staff?
I spent months there and never saw any?

in sweden it will take them about 2 years to even get it to trial.. and when they do they will loose cuz the server software itself isnt illegal just the client which we dont host..

and i doubt swedish police would even care about some stupid gamecompany whining about some guys running a private server.. swedish police doesnt have time or resources to even bother..

btw u say our players claim we are beeing runned by TQ ?

Also, you claim you do not host the client. I may not be a lawyer but i can tell you this- You have their software, which you downloaded maybe not from them, and that is software piracy, under European law. And that is reason enough for TQ to shut you down.
I doubt your comment regarding the Police force in Sweden is accurate as well. I can assure you they would find the time and the resources to pursue you into a court, if they wanted to.
Allow me to define PRIVATE SERVER for you. It means a server for you and you alone, not worldwide members. Therefore, you are not a private server, you are a PUBLIC server, and as such you are supposed to be under license from the software OWNERS. That means that unless you pay TQ and Netdragon for the license, you are as at risk as every other so-called private server.
Finally, the SOUL.EXE file has been hacked in order to run on your server. That means you are also guilty of hacking the software, another reason why TQ could close you down.

Perhaps not inciting an argument but showing a little bit of the 'greeneyed' monster perhaps!!! Or even that of someone who likes to make waves for private servers..are you the snitch everyone keeps talking about??!!

You do not have to look to far to cover the bases when it comes to copyright infringement and the policies in place by various different countries and those outside of US Codes...our members can be assured that we have taken steps to cover those bases to ensure that we are not blatantly using Netdragons 'property'.

Randomly posting 'gossip' isn't always the best way to go about things..and I say gossip because you use the word 'apparently' alot in your posts...Perhaps if you used the search option (I get to type that alot), you'd find a nice, helpful and informative post by Necron33 that somewhat explains why Netdragon have issues with SOME private servers, and hes pretty much bang on target with his suggestions.[Only registered and activated users can see links. There is no definition for 'private server' its merely a term used within a community!!

Ohhh and..why on earth would anyone email TQ asking them why they closed down servers..like WTF..are you insane man!!!!

The fact of the matter is that these websites were not taken down for being EO private servers. Anyone with the ability to read can see that.

They were taken down for exactly what the letter says they were taken down for: "unauthorized distribution of our client's online game titled Eudemons Online and specifically unauthonzed use of its trademark EUDEMONS ONLINE"

That was it. Distributing the client and illegal use of trademarks.

At Acme we do not illegally use TQs trademarks, because we are not morons.

Yes, we do host the client, however, now that we are aware that this makes darling TQ unhappy we have taken steps to stop hosting the client files which should come into effect tomorrow.

That's it, problem solved.
