Conquer And CheatEngine / Olly (Debugger Protection)

Open the original tqanp.dll in olly or cheat engine hit ctrl + A to analyze it or use the options tab if you are using cheat engine and search for this sequence

MOV EAX,1
RETN 0C

once you find it the whole function will look something like this

MOV EAX,DWORD PTR SS:[ESP+8]
SUB EAX,1
JNE SHORT 5BDE2573
CALL 5BDE2470
CALL 5BDE22B0
MOV EAX,1
RETN 0C

edit
JNE SHORT 5BDE2573
or JNZ SHORT 5BDE2573
to
JMP SHORT 5BDE2573

save the changes... and you are done

Does this modification allow hooking in the client? I mean, when I try to hook a vanilla client, when it tries to log in the game server it just freezes and quits afterwards.

I don't get why people have a problem with hooking the client, I've hooked the send & receive and the anticheat has said nothing about it and have had no problems logging in.

I need to try it again tomorrow, it`s possible I overlooked something in my code.

You must of been doing something wrong, I was using a vanilla client too.

like Dread said you can hook any function such as send/receive/jump/etc without making any edits/modifications to the client or tqanp.dll
and editing the tqanp.dll is just to allow you to debug conquer.exe using ollydbg/cheatengine without it crashing or closing up upon loading/attaching

its useful when you are debugging the client looking for some function or reversing some algorithm
