I personally use 6.4 pxi and metor XI 7.1 and the combination of both work fine for localhost as well as changing the client.ini to another IP to connect.

I dont have the update .bat so to circumvent that little wall I just created a free trial account to update the client.

As far as the pxi development thought which is the most important part I'd say. It still has kinks and needs more scripting.

I didn't even bother with 7.1

But now it seems to be working fine thanks!

Probably a play online error I deleted the POL 123456789 account so I'm going to add it then try again.
Update: after adding the pol 123456789 account it still fails
I believe the current 2010 patch's killed M-xi

Update: Successfully logged in... I haven't used mxi yet... so hopeful it will continue to work even after trial ends.

I update some of the database with updated stats
I'm a little worried about how I'm planning on implementing the boats, although they seem to be running just fine already (except that you just fall right through them, or spawn below them grrr...)


(although I'm going to be working on it, I wish I had access to the final release)

If your client isn't updated you can't connect. You have to make a free trial and update your client with an official connection, and ps they can't patch over meteor XI.

If your client isn't updated meteor will crash every time, and like I said 7.1 and 6.4 work flawlessly together, 8.0 does some wierd stuff due to all the additions they added to meteor 8.0 and up. Other than that there should be no problem starting your game.

There is no longer a ordered Item list (Lists in pxidb are not in order!!! They start at 0 go to 1000 then skip (I'm assuming this is a placeholder)
(0- {I think it's slightly less than 3000? All my custom items are in the 5000 to prevent errors}

I know what I want. I know what I'm doing. The only question is do you have what I'm looking for?

If you don't. Don't say anything. Your wasting my time. I want results.

A - All it does is change a file. You're better off just updating with a 14 day trial.

A - Have you ever looked in the PXI source? It's in there. Also, a few people do have access to the wiki still.

A - I have never seen the manual in the wiki or anything. I'm sure you could just do it in the Sql DB.

A - If POL removed FFXI, I'm sure if people had an updated version of it. Replacing the files would work. If that doesn't work, then everyone is SOL.

A - If you youtube PXI setup there's videos. Also, if you ask in the IRC, I'm sure someone could direct you to the server setup guide.

A - You do know you can sort in a database right? And again, if you would ask in the IRC channel, I'm sure someone could point you in the right direction.

7.1 does work over a network and via public IP.
