Anyone up for a project?

wow... the one thing i constantly hate seeing is "Hamachi Servers Suck". In my opinion they only suck depending on what kind of server you're making, and depending on your situation...

Honestly if someone is trying to really go big with a real like thing to be big and powerful and popular, then yes hamachi should not be involved.

But if you're like me, who is mainly only into doing this for the simple fun, and to bring people of boredom, while you're doing something like just practicing coding... then hamachi is nothing short but a life saver... For people who highly disagree, then i strongly impose that you're either one of the following:

-someone who is very privileged for your own router
-someone who parents are willing to share the router with you
-over 21 and have your own stuff, but is suffering from age-itis (putting your fortunes over the younger, and not aware of your mocking)
-simply an asshole...

Above all yes this is an OPINION, not a fact... no matter how close this is. Yes am i being a self induced monologue...er, but non the less stop putting people down for their situations... thats just to common on epvp... and I for one am irritated (but yet i do deal with it...) of it.

yea, but hes trying to get good and all, if hes getting coders and everything else, and many others do as well, which in those cases, hamachi sucks

not trying to be mean/funny/an ass/idiotic, sorry, but if im getting it right, you're saying he's trying to make a big empire like private server? like qonquer or something?

well i highly doubt that, not trying to put the guy down, but with conquer i doubt anyone will be able to get that big of an empire unless they completely branch out and do everything custom made.... infamous is the only person i see capable of it, but (and in no offense) hes to lazy, and seems like he wouldnt be interested xD.

hm i don´t think so
there are some good pserver with hamachi and they have a good ping. i think before u care about hamachi u shoud check server computer. because u need minimal for a good server:
high cpu 2GHz or better
good and quick ram 1GB DDRII 533
qick harddisk
win 200X service pack 4, windows XP servicepack 2 or better, windows vista service pack 1
(if u use vista i think it is better to use more ram then 1 GB)
windows net.framework 3.5
and a good internet conection

And at least u own computer should be not so bad as well. if it is not good enought u have a solw FPS rate.
i think that´s all.

1000ms/time to creat one frame= fps
like: if u computer needs 100 ms to creat one frame: (1000/100=10 ) u would have 10 fps

For a good server.. you need to fix up the socket system and packets and other things that make it stable.

Ok, so why does the server affect the client's fps? (Tane don't be a smartass about this one, you know it's not suppose to :P)

yes of corse.
but if u have a stable source and no good server your server sucks as well. And that´s the problem that TQ has. their servers are not good enought for so much players. they need better servers.
But first of all TQ have to fix their bugs.
