Or.. you didn't try using control when in combat mode.

For your reference: Combat mode = the result of you pressing space.

For your reference I'm not a complete idiot. I know what combat mode is compared to normal mode, I know the space toggles it. And i know what I want is when I press CTRL for it to target things including trees and signs. I also know it did not do that.
