I know you're kidding but I also know some servers got 96Gb ram, I wonder how noob the owner has to be to get something like that lolz. You will never use little more than 1/8 of that. For 2000 players I would say 24 is more than enough...

Don't choose the webserver because most of the addons and things won't work properly or won't work at all.

Please could you explain why i7 and not Xeon or Opteron?

Depends on i7 . If you get a x990 it has 6 cores - 12 threads ! More than enough to run a vsro server. If you take a 920, it has 4 cores - 8 threads which is enough as well (same as Sandy Bridge i7 2600) .

Xeon or Opteron are not a must . i7 can also satisfy your needs .
