I dont get this whole "packet thing" im too stupid to find it ive been searching for 3 hours still dont ge it

A packet is a bit of data that is sent to and from the server.

It's how the game is made to be online, because there's a server sending out information telling the client what to do.

Alissa allows you to edit this information.

.. That's the dumbed down explanation. xD

EDIT: This first part sounded awkward.

Anyways, 'Tylian pretty much explained it.

Oh, and I love my Avatar, too. <3

i know what a PACKET is i meant i dont get how to use alissa to edit it >:U

You don't need to use alissa to edit if you know about packets. Just use a normal word processor, or even a sheet of paper.

Alissa's main functions are the recording of packets, the displaying of these packets in a sort of "Organized" manner, and the ability to send your own packets to the server/emulate the server so the client receives packets. Well, you're not emulating the server, so to speak, but you can directly input packets into the client. Which... Server... Yeah... Pretty much.

I've noticed that in your picture, Alissa isn't running at all.

The reasons for that could be any one of these:
  • mod_Alissa.dll isn't in your mod folder.
Check if mod_Alissa.dll is in your mod/ folder, and not the base Mabinogi folder.
  • mod_Alissa.dll isn't in your mod.txt
Make sure mod_Alissa.dll is listed on it's own line in mod/mod.txt
  • Pake isn't loaded.
Check for a hook.log in your Mabinogi directory, if it doesn't exist this is the cause.
  • MNG isn't loaded.
Check for a mng_startup.log file in your Mabinogi directory, if it doesn't exist then this is the cause.

@Togepi: There's two versions of MNG, one that uses a function from Windows 7 and one that doesn't.
I'm guessing you're only giving out the Windows 7 one in your post. xD
(<3 Your avatar xD)

Your Alissa? How do you know it's Alissa. Did you remove mod_Alissa.dll from your mod.txt and see if it stopped getting detected?

Otherwise, you can't really assume it's Alissa. Could be a number of other things going wrong.

Check the JAP/MNG ini's depending on which you're using for CRC Bypass. They tell you what to change when it gives you that specific error. Play around with the values.

I out everything to 0 except the CRC bypass. For both JAP and MNG. So That's not the problem. I believe the problem is the hackshield.

You set "CRCBypassTimeToSleep=" in JAP and MNG's "THREAD_TARGET=" "THREAD_DELAY=" to 0?

xD

Read the instructions in the .INI files before randomly setting stuff to 0. It'll help you sort your problem. Like I said before, it's probably not something I can fix for you.

01/21/2012 15:47 cloudkiller2006#29
