To Clarify on statements made - iAO pay around 500k licensing in fee's per annum for AO

OGR ARE NOT selling there server files to the Public and this 5k$ i have no clue why you think they are worth so low?

Aristona i have told you many time including today on msn, your posts are looking bad, infact they look Tainted. I have never told you that OGR have earnt just 20K$ in a year >.> and if i did i'd tell you something they have made around 200k$-250k$ in just less than 12mths from their Item Mall. (Sorry if you don't like my statement but i not completely happy you brought me into this one with facts that are flawed)

I know players that spent 500$-1000$ per month alone so you can see why the numbers are so high.

At the end of the day OGR have made a huge change to AO and yes we all would like to have the files todo those 'dream things' we all want to try me included. Do i have the chance to buy the OGR files? Yes if i offer the correct amount and it helps that i have direct access the the dev for this reason. If i bought them what would i do? I would make a closed server for personal testing and hopefully try to get OGR back on the map for being the best AO PS but if they dont wish to follow my high hopes for whatever reason thats ok.

just reading the above post did make me lol 'you would have only 60 players online...' do you realise OGR still has 2x this active daily even in its current state? OGR have over 18k created characters to date so the simple maths is....

An AO PS kept online run well and updated, kept players in the know and thought about players first could easily rake in 20k$ per month IMHO.

But all of the above is my person opinion and not the opinion of OGRealms

Auryn, it is possible I misunderstood what you said in MSN, but let me write few facts. OGRealms may earnt alot more than what I have said, just because:

a. OGR had a decent publicity system with loads of advertisements. So many people heard about that server this way.

b. They had the first private server of AO. Every single player who would play in a private server, would play on OGR AO, so you wouldn't be afraid of any kind competition with other private servers.

c. It is been online for 1 years straight, without any security issues or long downtimes. Been successful so far.

d. Had a somewhat "rich playerbase. People like me, and who had no time to play on retail due to their limited time donated here.

Why I am trying to say that server files won't worth alot anymore:

a. You said "OGRealms test server was shutdown." at the day someone made a topic like "I hacked your server, have fun." in your forums. It is possible that someone has access to these files now. (Although I believe it's just a bleuf.) Price will definitely decrease.

b. There is a chinese server around, which means, "one more person" has access to these files. It is a huge risk of making an investment.

c. Their security isn't good. Not only because they got SQL Injected, but there are also possible holes in OS itself. They may get hacked anytime and server files would be accessable by "one more person."

d. There are not many investors who would buy AO server files. This is not a populated game like WOW. You will definitely need to decrease price as the time passes, since nobody would be interested in buying server files with such a high price.

e. Why would any "investor" give him loads of money, when he actually announced "he is going to make a server himself and need money to do so?" (This is the main reason why nobody will offer high amount of prices anymore... be smart, think like an investor sometimes.)

f. How are you going to make the transaction? Are you expecting someone to directly trade you 5.000 USD over internet? Probably no. If I would be paying 5.000 USD to someone "unknown", we would meet in real life first, and I would make the transaction by hand to prevent possible scams, also would require him to be teaching about server files, GM commands, database for an entire day.

g. Your, and the seller's server will be "rivals" to eachother and there will be a huge "competion" to get players. (add OGRealms and Chinese server into the list too.) In this case, "other servers will always have an advantage" since they will already know about server files, database, and client; while you try to understand "which table is used for saving accounts". They will get Guan Yu to work, you won't even increase stats of a D class mercenary.

h. I believe you won't be getting technical support from the seller (just because he will be busy making his own server and I doubt he would help the enemy server) it will also decrease the price a little bit.

These are the facts why AO server files won't be very expensive to invest on. If it was few months ago, it would cost alot I agree, but as of now, it's hard to get loads of money to be honest...

Before I forget, my statement still stands. Anybody who is willing to give 250.000 USD for these server files, give it to me (or any decent C++/ASM guru) and we will write an emulator for the current iAO servers and give you the source codes. I will also sign an aggrement with you to get files "belong to you" by laws.

Not to mention, with such a big amount of money, you can get your own MMORPG game coded (let's say, a game like Travian with more features) and earn x1000 of what you would from making an "illegal" private server of AO.

Please, just because OGR made 100-200k USD in an entire year, it doesn't mean you will be getting same amount of money. Have a look at chinese private server. Although it got the most playerbase from OGR and been online for 1 months already, he couldn't even reach 1k USD. (yet)

I also want to comment on 18.000 accounts issue. It is possible, but the amount of players who will actively play on your server (let's say, get past level 50) will be around 1.000. Also, the old players will eventually get bored and quit. And no, OGRealms doesn't have like 120 online "real-time". Perhabs it is the amount of players who login in the past 24 hours, but the day I quitted OGR (been like 2-3 weeks) I counted Peers list "during evening time on a weekend for European timezone", which should be the PEAK time, was around 55-60. (Alot worse on Chinese server, around 35 at peak.)

You may find my post offensive but I hope you don't feel offended, because I'm not trying to.

I do hope he can find a buyer for the server files. That is something "benefits me" in the end.

Well I didn't thought that OGR GM will say something that could help me server files .

But I will make it clear : I want for files 10.000 $ , if you want to buy them at this price - PM ME . I decided that I won't create my own private server for AO .

Meh, cmon someone buy these files xD. Want to get away from OG AO and Chinese AO, both are sh*t. Waiting for some pro server.

Even this topic got replied by 4 different people only. It's clear that nobody is interested on investing on AO server files, but well. I do really hope someone buys it though. Doubt they'll be making random fail servers after making an investment.

If not, how are you going to make a trade? You're giving the files first or expecting the money first?

Are these files exactly the same than the ones from OGR atlantica ? I can invest money, but not if it's with the crappy old TBS system.

Peoples won't leave official F2P servers if there isn't atleast a few interresting things on P.Server. This TBS system and new mercenaries are very important things to get players to your server, not only cheap IM or Free Licences...

I don't see any sense of playing any private servers anymore. I played on one private server. I will not tell its name because I don't want anyone to feel bad about my opinion. A lot of failed promises, administrations which didn't care about players. That's all you can see at private server of all kind. While playing official one you aren't afraid if it will fall apart or all players will leave a server. Funny thing is that I was earning 7x more on official server than on private one. Exp was better on priv but 1x is enough for me. =O

The worst part of private server is that they're from the earliest TBS area which means that Free League is old and in the most unfair form. On priv you don't have multihit patch, main upgrade patch (OP bow main -.-, hopefully it's nerfed on KAO :) ) with skills and addititional attributes for main and his mercenaries. I have increased int on all chars imo. Still dusk elegy has to be nerfed and I've heard it was already nerfed too with 140 eq patch. The worst is lack off multihit patch which makes FL very dumb. Guan yu skill in your patch files isn't "counterattacking" beast's soul.( when BS is casted on rage damage crits etc are descreased), Khun Phaen's skills are a little different and he's not wielding an orb. Thanks to lack of multihit patch guan yu is dying like a bitch in the 1st line. Also propably I suspect that vampire has another skills that she should have but I'm not sure this is "that" server version. Also when you implement files from the server which aren't implemented for example on our server liek clothes etc, you don't have them in collection book. -.- TBS system is total fail without autobattle or there is but weak one. On official autobattle got a little changed, especialy for vampire. It's very comfortable to autobattle now. Skirmishes are mostly made for it. :P Lack of Hero's dungeons are also a big fail because it's the best autocrafting system ever made. You put your char on half hour on autobattle, charge it 20 battles charge each half hour while doing absolutely nothing. :D To conclude I like the fact that we can't see many noob cannon mains but when we see them we can own them very easily. People are whinning on forums that cannon main is useless after this big last update but it's not. They finally will start using it in proper way. By proper way I mean deva shell/STUN!/smoke bomb+signet (main upgrade patch). Doesn't matter what you will implement here. FL will be still very very weird and propably will be owned by BS cannon mains, 4 melees staff mains build (not nerfed dusk etc.), and sword mains combo with Khun Phaen with using Khun mostly as a guard bitch almost every turn. Currently I love fl. A lot of stunning which requires a lot of skills to prevent that from opponent and also counterattack it with spike or "bigger stun pressure" , BS bitches started to catch a game a little finally. Even after patch spear main became more usefull and he will be more usefull after next patch. New fl gave us a lot of possibilities to make a party. You can think 2 hours about a party but you will see always a "hole" in it which is really fun to do thanks to it. With no fl updates this will provide to the same squads, boring pvp, less people on fl cuz they are scared of high equips and bs guys mostly. I noticed that not a lot of ppl can handle Beast's Soul.

Propably few people from this forum recognized me from private server which I can't say a name cuz I don't want to insult/advertise. I was really enjoying that server at the beggining and I wanted it to grow. Later I changed my mind but nvm. The points is I was whinning a lot on Nexon and I still do. I am there because I am 100% calm that it will not fail, I can earn easily money and also updates are not made by Nexon which many people thinks that is the truth. Ndoors team is still doing updates for AO. They failed few times with balance imo but we will have everything because KAO already has it.
Also I have maaaaaanyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy friends out there and PVP is VERY LOVELY. Many people and pages while fl/wk/grand. =)
Have fun and try to make this private server better. This one which I was playing on and all other ones. I have no idea how many priv servers of AO are there. maybe 5 or 10.

These are old files. As said it was Pre-Nexon which shows how old they are, considering Nexon has been running Atlantica for quite a while already.
