current dev status

hmmm its okay if you dont answer this but i didnt see that you were gonna add staging pets

(just want to stage pets so bad)

Congrats to the Dev team, It sounds wonderful!

Some things like pet staging will probably not be doable with the current server. I have my doubts that dura is doable as well but we'll see what we can do about that one. The plan is still to go legit with a server coded from scratch. I have the basic framework up and running (network core, logging, etc) but that's about it so far. I haven't had much free time lately to work on the server itself but the rest of the team is making good progress in other areas.

One thing that wisp didn't mention (it has happened since then) is that we are now able to modify client-side data to some degree. It's a total pain to do right now and is very limited but I expect that will change in the next couple of days.

and i added dura and such as with any dev its more of a check list then a to do list.

i also have my doubts on dura i mean adding dura isnt to har but as u have said and doing some looking u would be correct that the added stats would be difficult adding dura to pets would be equally difficult at current server /db just isnt built for it adding to db not an issue but getting game serv to except it thats a nother story

Well I was thinking about it and so far I haven't seen it mentioned. If you guys are going to a 7.1 hybrid (7.1 Client support i'm guessing?) would it contain the hardmode dungeons or is that something not of particular importance at this time?

gavsta - no release date, depends on how long it takes people to realize that it won't be released until certain servers shut down.

ismokedrow - the hardmode dungeons aren't high up on our list since they basically serve 2 purposes: better dura and better exp. Dura isn't implemented yet and most p-servers will have decent exp already. Plus, the way they are implemented sucks. If I ever add them, they'll be set to respawn you at the hm lobby instead of back in town.

they want money they wont shut down, and even if they did it would just b to ge the new updates and they would just re-open why dont u guys just make a server. i mean no disrespect but sayin hey look what we fixed and no u cant get these updates in the same post is kinda ....eh. if u see it from our point, i know most ppl here are tryin to get them updates so they can make a server for a quick buck but im just waitin on u guys to make a server and ima play there!!

So Basically you won't be giving server files until people turn off live servers? :)!

i seriously dont think they should give the files out at all. heres why, if the ppl that put up servers based on the collective work of the devs actually fix something on their server do u think they gonna share it with the ppl here? i doubt it. i say to the devs dont release shiit just put up ur own server.

tbh i think devs will release... but people shouldn't be making there own private servers they should make a private server and keep it private aka play by there self and maybe friend via hamachi!

Thanks for the response Pyrok. I see your point with HM only being for the upp'd dura and EXP. And yes sending back to respawn is ugh... It would still be a nice thing to tweak out (improve for future)

Dude please don't lump us all into the "Idiot/Spammer/No-Brainer/Scammer" categories. I personally have ZERO intention of making a live server, who wants that headache or attention. Don't try and ruin it for us all.

well so far i havent seen a server that wasnt laughable there so riddled with bugs by the time we did get around to release they would probly be gone anyway. theres always a gem out there someone is polishing and fixing before release publicly and im cool with that its the whole point if u want to fix stuff then public release feel free just make sure most of the fixes and etc is your own work this means waiting around to have someone else do it like aor does is completly pointless

I know people will try to make money off this no matter what we do. But there's a difference between charging for a stable, mostly bug-free server and for a buggy, data-corrupting pos that anyone can bring down just by picking up their drops. I don't like either idea but people who charge for anything at all with how unstable the released server is are just pathetic.

Making personal profit for the works of large community is appalling, but you're right. A lot of people will try to rip this for themselves. Not to mention going live and being all hyper about it and putting it all over forums just puts YOU in trouble and the dev's.

So while all of you (And you know who you are) are out there passing a half assed server off on people, you make it harder or more scarce for future updates. And making money off it, that's just on you if you get found out buddy. :D
